In the ACT you need to have valid building, pest, compliance, and energy efficiency reports before you can legally market your home. If you pay our fee directly, the costs of the building reports are reimbursed back to you upon settlement by the buyer.

- For houses and townhouses (Class B properties), you need to have valid Building, Pest, Compliance, and Energy Efficiency reports before you can legally market your property. Civil Law (Sale of Residential Property) Act. The standard cost of the Building Reports, except for the Energy Efficiency report, is reimbursable from the buyer.
- For a unit (Class A properties), you need to obtain an Energy Efficiency Report (EER) before you can legally market your property. Energy Efficiency Ratings for mandatory disclosure under the Civil Law (Sale of Residential Property) Act.
